Sederet kabar panjang atas pelanggaran dalam kebebasan beragama, penekanan terhadap kelompok minoritas, dan sentimen negatif atas agama tertentu seringkali terjadi. Terlebih munculnya aliran faham seperti radikalisme, fundamentalis, dan liberalisme menambah daftar kecurigaan antar umat beragama.
Kemudian jika kita coba melakukan analisa serta pendalaman kasus terhadap konflik-konflik yang terjadi, sejatinya tidak seluruh konflik lahir dari pertentangan antar agama, akan tetapi adanya kelompok-kelompok ‘pembelaan Tuhan’, yang memahami suatu agama secara eksklusif dan berlebihan yang memungkinkan konflik ‘dibungkus’ dan dilontarkan sebagai bentuk pembelaan terhadap agama yang wajib dijaga ‘kemurniannya’.
Hal ini lah yang menjadi dasar penyebab kerusuhan atau pelanggaran atas nama perbedaan agama yang lebih sering terlihat dan mudah menyulut emosi penganut agama daripada konflik yang lain, dan jika kejadian seperti itu terus dibiarkan maka kemungkinan konflik tidak akan dapat diselesaikan.
Jalan keluar akan sulit ditemukan apabila tidak ada keyakinan bahwa sebuah realitas atau perbedaan adalah suatu keniscayaan yang tidak mungkin bisa dihilangkan oleh manusia, maka tidak ada pilihan lain selain menjaga dan merawat perbedaan itu dengan persaudaraan atas nama kemanusiaan.
Pluralisme Agama Merupakan Keniscayaan
Kesadaran atas pluralisme dalam beragama menjadi kunci dalam menekan kerusuhan atau konflik yang disebabkan oleh perbedaan pandangan atas beragama. Kemudian jika kita mengutip Pluralisme agama menurut Coward (1989: 168-169) muncul dari kesadaran bahwa realitas kehidupan manusia tidak dapat dipisahkan dari keberagaman, termasuk keberagaman agama.
Pluralisme agama dapat menjadi sarana untuk memahami bahwa ada satu realitas yang dipahami lewat banyak cara. Hal ini didasarkan pada semangat yang diusung oleh pluralisme agama demi mencapai kedamaian dan kebersamaan di tengah keberagaman.
Pluralisme agama adalah realitas yang muncul setelah adanya kenyataan bahwa keberagaman agama adalah hal yang niscaya. Kemudian kecenderungan pluralisme ini tidak dapat dipisahkan atau dihilangkan dari kehidupan sehari-hari. Pluralisme adalah bagian dari keberagaman yang merupakan takdir tuhan yang tidak dapat dihapuskan, hal ini merupakan suatu kenyataan yang telah menyatu dengan kehidupan sosial masyarakat.
Peran Pancasila Pada Keyakinan Beragama Dalam Kehidupan Masyarakat
Dalam kehidupan masyarakat kita yang heterogen, pancasila merupakan dasar negara yang sudah final. Kemudian nilai-nilai yang terkandung di dalamnya harus di amalkan dan di jalankan baik dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat, berbangsa, dan bernegara. Adapun pancasila memberikan pengertian bahwa nilai-nilai yang terkandung di dalamnya tidak sama sekali bertentangan dengan nilai-nilai agama mana pun, karena agama dan Pancasila telah di selaraskan oleh para penggagas pada saat itu.
Selanjutnya jika coba di fahami lebih mendalam agama dan pancasila sama-sama memiliki arti, yakni sebagai nilai dan alat untuk mencapai kesejahteraan lahir batin masyarakat. Meskipun tujuannya sama namun makna nya berbeda. Agama berperan sebagai perekat sosial dan pembina ruhani, sedangkan pancasila berperan sebagai pedoman dalam bernegara.
Agama adalah rumah besar yang menyajikan tata kelola mental, spiritual dan seluruh sendi kehidupan manusia. Sedangkan pancasila adalah rumah besar ragam agama anak bangsa, menyajikan tata kelola negara supaya terarah dan sesuai dengan apa yang diamanatkan.
Bahkan pancasila dapat dianggap sebagai jalan tengah yang mampu mengakomodasi nilai-nilai agama untuk diterjemahkan dalam konteks bernegara dan dapat dikatakan bahwa pengaruh agama sangat kuat mewarnai rumusan berbagai isi perundang-undangan, peraturan, serta regulasi-regulasi turunannya di Indonesia.
Pancasila sebagai sebuah ideologi negara telah teruji karena lahir dari kesepakatan bersama antar-kelompok yang beragam. Lahirnya Pancasila tidak hanya melibatkan tokoh dari kalangan satu agama saja, melainkan juga tokoh-tokoh agama lain dan kelompok nasionalis. Namun, dalam implementasinya, nilai-nilai Pancasila masih perlu di implementasikan secara lebih konkret agar betul-betul dirasakan manfaatnya oleh seluruh umat beragama.
